Getting Started

Hello and welcome to Windows 7 QnA. This is a peer-to-peer support and collaboration site for Microsoft Windows 7. There are several members on this site who have come from other support sites and have answered thousands of Windows 7 and general computer support questions. We think you'll find this site not only informative, but also friendly and a place you'll enjoy coming to time and time again.

Where to Begin

  1. Be sure to read the Code of Conduct (CoC). Although it will be similar to that of other sites, you may find a few surprises in ours.
  2. To your left are the featured discussion groups - to see all of the groups, click the Discussion Groups menu item. You can read discussions in a group, but must join the group to be able to post to discussions. In each group is the option to join the group.
  3. To change your profile information and customize your own page on the site, click the My Page menu item. Keep in mind, questions/discussions posted on personal pages are not tracked in the discussion groups (i.e., questions on personal pages can go unanswered).
  4. Below this welcome message, is a scrolling list displaying the latest activity on the site. Each item has links to take you directly to the item.
  5. Want to chat? Click the Chat Room menu item. A new chat window will open (you may have to adjust your pop-up blocker). Or, you can click the chat bar located towards the bottom right of your browser window.

Sniff around; find what you need or anything that may interest you and go from there. We're here to help each other, now with you here, we are only that much stronger.

Again, welcome to the Windows 7 QnA!

Agree. Make sure you uninstall all reminisce of Reader before doing a re-install (I even renamed the old download DLL before doing the reinstall.)

I did uninstall and reinstall Adobe but no change. For some reason, IE won't work after installing W7U which seems odd because it comes with it, so I can't use IE to do it. I do use FF however. So what to do now?

I concur. Adobe 9.x functions just fine with Windows 7. Adobe was most likely corrupted in the system registry during the upgrade....not a huge deal, just uninstall and re-install it as previously suggested.

There shouldn't be an issue with Acrobat Reader 9.2 and Windows 7. I'd recommend uninstalling Reader and reinstalling it. Having said that, I had a problem with installing Reader using Firefox (related to the Adobe Download Manager). Use IE to ins...
